As many Albertans are feeling the affects of the Canada Post strike, charities across the province are encouraging their donors to use alternative methods of giving during the strike.

Major Al Hoeft of the Salvation Army explains the forecasted need they are expecting this holiday season.
According to a recent survey conducted by the Salvation Army, nearly 58% per cent of its users are access food services for the first time, which is a 15% per cent increase from the number of people seeking assistance in 2023.
As well in 2023 Salvation Army Nationally had 438,000 visits for Christmas assistance which also included food hampers and toys.
