The season round of the WHL playoffs is coming to an end with the Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes getting ready for game seven on Wednesday, April 23.

Exciting action took place at the VisitLethrbidge.com Arena over the weekend on Saturday, April 19, as the Hurricanes sent the Hitmen packing after a decisive 5-1 victory.

Both teams have been neck and neck throughout the regular season and during their battle in the twenty twenty-twenty-five playoffs, but after a dominating display in Lethbridge, the Hurricanes will be heading to the Scotiabank Saddledome with strong momentum after Noah Chadwick’s two goals securing Saturday’s win, along with starting goalie Jackson Unger who stopped twenty-one shots on net.

The lone goal for the Hitmen came in the third period from Brandon Gorynski.

The defeat for the Hitmen comes after their three-game series comes back as game five, say the Hitmen clinch a goal in Calgary 6-5 in OT.

The final match-up between the Hurricanes and Hitmen is Wednesday at the Saddledome with the puck dropping at 7 p.m.

Whoever wins this series will be set to take on the Medicine Hat Tigers, who have moved on to the semi-finals of the Playoffs after shutting out the Prince Albert Raiders 4-0.

For both series, the Tigers have only lost one game to the Swift Current Broncos on April 1 and have been on a six-game winning streak.

The WHL semi-finals will determine the Eastern Conference’s 2025 champion and will head to the finals to take on the Western Conference champion for the 2025 WHL title.
