While there’s been more rain this summer than many, residents in Canmore need to be mindful of their water usage for the next couple of months.

The Town of Canmore has enacted Stage 1 Outdoor Water Restrictions, which will remain in effect until September 26th.  The Stage 1 Outdoor Water Restrictions apply to all Canmore, Harvie Heights, and Dead Man’s Flats residents.

TransAlta is conducting normal, routine, and expected repairs on the Spray Canal. Stage 1 Outdoor Water Restrictions will help reduce strain on the system during this process. This means that you are not allowed to fill fountains or ponds, and sprinkler use is limited to 2 hours, 1 day per week, between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.

While optional, additional help such as fixing leaks, watering plants early morning or at night to reduce evaporation, and utilizing a rain barrel can help.
