Santa Claus is Coming to the Town of High River!

By Sarah Scott Nov 19, 2025 | 1:27 PM

40 years ago, on Dec. 6, High River’s first Santa Claus Parade took to the streets, and it’s gotten even bigger and brighter as the years have gone by.

It’s that time of year again – when the plans for the Santa Claus Parade are in full swing, and it’s only a few sleeps away on Friday, December 5th, 2025!

Celebrate the Joy of Christmas (the parade theme this year!) in the town of High River for the 40th Annual High River Santa Claus Parade! The Santa Claus Parade is an evening filled with fun for the whole family.

The big excitement this year — along with the 40th Anniversary — is that Netflix will be filming a holiday rom-com on December 4th, 5th, and 6th. So yes, there will be some celebrities at the parade and even participating in the parade!

Chairman and organizer of the 40th Annual High River Santa Claus Parade, Ted Dawson, tells us everything we need to know about the special holiday evening:

A little bit more information for you:

While there are a lot of exciting things happening along with the filming, there are also going to be some road closures in place following the Parade to allow for additional filming.

John & Sue Nibourg, the originator of the SCP, and Lynette McCracken, former Executive Director of the High River Chamber of Commerce and Administrator for the SCP, will be our Parade Marshalls.
