The Lethbridge Police helped to raise money for the Special Olympics.

The Lethbridge Police have raised money for the Special Olympics, with the help of Boston Pizza.

According to Cst. Braylon Hyggen with the Lethbridge Police Service, they have been hosting the Cops, Pops and Pizza fundraiser for a few years, which sees money going towards the Special Olympics.

This fundraiser started years ago in the United States, and has now grown to a worldwide fundraiser.

This is their 5th event at Boston Pizza for the Special Olympics, but they also host other events to help raise funds for the Special Olympics

At this year’s Cops, Pops and Pizza fundraiser, Boston Pizza on Mayor Magrath Drive South in Lethbridge not only provided the venue for the fundraiser, but they also wrote a cheque for $7,664.42.

That cheque, combined with merchandise sales and cash donations, brought in a total of $14,715.42 for the Special Olympics, which is more than $2,000 more than what was raised last year, with all proceeds going to the Special Olympics Alberta.
