A boil water advisory is in effect in Siksika Nation.
The Siksika Nation Tribal Administration took to social media this afternoon to let the public know about a boil water advisory that has been implemented for the West Siksika Public Water Supply, specifically the subdivisions of Westend and Stobart, all due to the potential for microbial contamination that may cause people to become ill.
According to the Siksika Nation Tribal Administration, pressure loss within the distribution system, and affects roughly 100 to 150 homes.
Those who are being affected by this advisory are being advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to any consumption.
That includes drinking, making infant formula or juice, brushing teeth, washing food, making ice, and more.
By boiling the water, it will destroy any microorganisms that may be in the water supply.
This advisory will be in effect until further notice.
