The Piikani Nation War Veterans Society is set to host a Memorial Pow Wow on April 25, bringing community members together to celebrate culture while supporting a meaningful cause.
Hayley Grier-Stewart, President of the War Veterans Society, tells CJWE the event will raise funds for a new veterans monument, with plans to complete it by November 11, 2026, to honor the service and sacrifice of Piikani veterans.
Grier-Stewart adds the goal is to raise $140,000, with $86,000 already secured and more fundraisers planned to close the gap.
