Siksika’s Heather Wolfear Aims to Shine on the Miss Indigenous 2026 Stage

Unlike traditional beauty pagents and powwow pagents, Miss Indigenous 2026 focuses more on a persons impact in communities. Heather Wolfear, from Siksika, is campaigning for her shot at the title.

Miss Indigenous 2026, a long-standing leadership and ambassador program geared towards Indigenous youth, looks to equip them with skills they need to become community leaders. The program encourages youth to re-connect with their culture, and give back to their communties.

We spoke with Heather Wolfear about Miss Indigenous and why she picked the program.
