Get ready for the cutest races at Century Downs this weekend!
Born out of a collaboration between Cinco De Mayo and The Kentucky Derby, the 10th Running of the Chihuahua Races are making their way to Century Downs on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.
It will be a fun-filled day of live racing, festive vibes, and one of their most attended and beloved traditions during their summer season.
CJWE had a chance to speak with Melissa Mackenzie the Lead Coordinator for the the 10th Running of the Chihuahua Races this year:
More details: The afternoon kicks off with live Standardbred racing at 12:45PM, then stick around as the speedy (and adorable) chihuahua racers take to the track! 🐕💨 The start time of the Chihuahua Races depends on the number of races that day. We estimate they will begin around 4PM, follow us on social media for the exact start time, announced the week of the races!
