It was a busy few days for the Redwood Meadows Emergency Services.
The Redwood Meadows Emergency Services recently had a busy few days, dealing with multiple fires.
On April 30, Redwood Meadows Emergency Services crews were on scene, along with multiple other agencies, fighting a wildfire north of Highway 1, east of Scott Lake Hill.
During that incident, both fixed wing and rotary aircraft were used to assist in putting out the fire, as well as crews from multiple Rocky View County Fire Stations, Redwood Meadows Emergency Services, Stoney Nakoda Fire Department, Cochrane Fires Services, and Calgary Forestry.
This brush fire grew to cover 50 acres, but crews were able to contain the fire.
The following day, on May 1, crews returned to the scene to deal with hotspots
On April 30, a Fire Advisory was implemented for Rocky View County, due to conditions.
Also on April 30, Redwood Meadows Emergency Services also went to support Cochrane firefighters with a structure fire, and responded to a serious motorcycle incident on highway 66.
In total, crews responded to four different calls and worked from noon to 2 a.m.
Then, on May 3, they responded to a backcountry rescue for a mountain biker in West Bragg Creek, as well as motor vehicle incident in Bragg Creek.
On May 4, a Fire Ban was implemented Redwood Meadows.
