The Moose Hide Campaign Day is an annual event where Canadians are able to come together and help fight against gender-based violence.

This campaign took place today (May 14) at the Confluence Historic Site & Parkland in Calgary.

As part of the day, people were able to participate in a General Plenary Livestream, a virtual workshop, and a community walk that included a stop at City Hall for a Round Dance.

One of the organizers of the Campaign in Calgary, Nicole Ellerbeck, says it is important to her to spread the word about the violence against women and Children.

Ellerbeck goes on to explain why they are doing this Campaign.

As part of this Campaign, there are a few ways they are teaching young boys how to end the cycle of violence.

As part of the Moose Hide Campaign, people wear moose hide pins, which Ellerbeck says helps to open up conversations about violence.

The Moose Hide Pins also is considered a form of medicine.

This Campaign happens across Canada, and to learn more, click here.
