A Grizzly Bear with cubs is causing another Bear Warning to pop up in K-Country.
On May 13, a Bear Warning was implemented in the Lower Lake Campground in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, due to a Grizzly with cubs in the area.
This is following several bear warnings in K-Country last week, which affected the Tryst Lake Parking Area of Spray Valley Provincial Park, and Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park the week prior.
While the advisories are in place for those areas, bears can be encountered in K-Country at any time.
To help avoid a surprise run-in with a bear, Alberta Parks advises to make plenty of noise, travel in groups, be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for bears and their signs, keep pets on a leash, carry bear spray in an easily accessible area, and secure attractants in bear proof areas.
