Heritage Park has been marking National Indigenous History Month with a month of celebration of First Nations and Métis cultures, histories and traditions.
Guests have already been enjoying cultural teachings, live performances, wellness experiences and community gatherings led by Indigenous artists, Elders, Knowledge Keepers and community partners.
With the programming included with regular admission or membership, it has allowed for many people to experience and enjoy the traditions and historical teachings while enjoying a beautiful day at the park.
Also, individuals who self-identify as Indigenous will receive free admission on June 20 and 21!
CJWE had a chance to speak with Anita Crowshoe, the Senior Indigenous Engagement Advisor at Heritage Park to give us all the details of everything that’s been happening and will be happening as a part of National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day:
