Search efforts are currently underway in Waterton Lakes National Park after a man from Golden, B.C made plans to go to the community of Coleman, Alta. but never arrived.
His last known location was the Rowe Lakes Trail, on the west side of the park on July 19th.
Parks Canada described the man as an 81-year-old Caucasian male who may be wearing dark blue shorts or pants, a light blue shirt and a grey backpack.
The agency is focusing it’s efforts on the west portion of Waterton Lakes National Park, and Southwest Alberta Regional Search and Rescue looks outside the park. On-foot searchers and aircraft are also being used.
Parks Canada are discouraging people from attempting to search for the man on their own, due the remote and mountainous terrain in the area.
If you have any information, call Southwest Alberta Regional Search and Rescue.
