Lights, Camera, Alberta!

My Life with the Walter Boys, The Last of Us, Heartland, Interstellar, Superman, The Dinosaurs, The Abandons, Black Summer, Ghostbusters… just to name a few – and I mean, just a few movies and shows that have been filmed right here in Alberta!

Alberta has become a hot spot for Hollywood filmmakers and TV makers alike.

As we know, Vancouver and Toronto are well-known movie and TV shooting locations, but Alberta is in the spotlight these days and is starting to become known as a bit of a Hollywood North!

Netflix in Your Neighbourhood is a new website where filming locations from around Canada are added to its interactive map.

From local businesses and familiar streetscapes to popular hiking trails and swimming holes, real-life locations featured in several of your favourite Netflix productions are included.

Southern Alberta locations featured on the map include High River, Bragg Creek, Kananaskis Country, Cochrane, Millarville, Banff, Clearwater County, the District of Greenview, Calgary, Seebe, Horseshoe Canyon, Drumheller and Mînî Thnî.

Whether you’re a local or planning a visit, see where the magic happened and discover these locations through the lens of Netflix.
