The Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation is hosting their Wall of Honour Induction Banquet on Friday August 22nd at the Vikings Rental Centre, with 22 scouts set to be inducted, and a “Behind the Mask” hot stove panel to follow. The event also promises a silent auction that can be joined by a silent auction that is currently live online, and will run until August 28th.
The Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation offers support for individuals in the scouting community facing mental challenges through financial assistance, scouting and parent seminars, and supports national organizations.
The “Behind the Mask” offers hockey fans a chance to look at the goaltending position behind the scenes, and will feature names like John Davidson, Kelly Hrudey, Ed Staniowski, Brent Krahn, Jamie McLennan, and Glen Hanlon, among others.
The first two induction ceremonies followed themes from Tales from the Road, which documented the scouting profession, and a Night with the Sutters, which celebrated the Alberta family’s contributions to the game throughout the years. 74 inductees were celebrated through the first two ceremonies.
The program plans to give out three awards during the banquet as well, the Ace Award, the Two Glens Honorarium, and the Bob Ridley Golden Microphone Honorarium.
Doors open for the event at 5 p.m. with the banquet kicking off at 6 p.m.
