The Labour Day Classic is only days away, and this year it’s the Edmonton Elks (8-3) in town to play the Stampeders (5-6), and that game starts at 4pm, at McMahon Stadium. In a post on social media, the Stampeders posted their collaboration with the Calgary Food Bank, along with a “wish-list” of needed donations.
According to the post, volunteers with the Calgary Food Bank make up 175 shifts a day, and account for almost half of the Calgary Food Bank workforce. The post also says that for every dollar donated, the Calgary Food Bank will be able to distribute $3.50 worth of food.
With Calgary Food Bank usage up 100% in the last two years, the Stampeders also provided a list of most-needed donations. Donations can be brought right to the game on Monday!
