X Games is coming to WinSport in 2027
Calgary is set to become a major hub for extreme winter sports next year as the X Games League expands into a new multi-stop winter season.
WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park will stage the middle event of the inaugural three-stop MoonPay XGL Winter Season, slotted between Aspen, Colorado and Ruka, Finland.
The Calgary stop runs February 19–21, 2027.
XC Golden State, XC New York, XC Park City and XC Whistler will each select five men and five women at the league’s draft Wednesday in Los Angeles. More than 180 skiers and snowboarders are eligible.
X Games Calgary will be the biggest winter sports gathering the site has hosted since the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
The competition will feature Big Air, Knucklehuck, Slopestyle and Superpipe. The city will also see international musical acts Levity and Steve Aoki perform as part of the event.
Tourism Calgary president and CEO Alisha Reynolds projected a $25-million boost to the local visitor economy and said the event will highlight Calgary as a vibrant year-round destination on the world stage.
X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom said securing Calgary was a priority for the organization, citing the city’s history, infrastructure and strong winter-sports culture as the perfect fit for the event.
