The Elbow River Healing Lodge offers primary health care services to Status and Non-Status, Metis, and Inuit peoples and their families. The Healing Lodge features traditional healing approaches, supportive care and onsite Elders. The Elbow River Healing Lodge has been in Calgary for 20 years, and just after their 20th anniversary celebration, we got to chat with them about what the future holds.
Their anniversary celebration featured traditional drumming and singing, a smudge and circle led by Charlotte Yellowhorn-Mcleod and Adrian Goulet, and finished the day with a jam that featured Dr. Lindsay Crowshoe and Walter White Bear.
We got to chat with Danene Lenstra and Dr. Lindsay Crowshoe of the Elbow River Healing Lodge, and got to ask about what it means to be celebrating 20 years of care.
