Check out Tomkins Park on 17th Ave for a weekend of Halloween fun! Source: 17thave.ca
Halloween weekend can be busy, so why not celebrate a week early? 17th Ave is hosting a weekend full of Halloween events, including Trick-Or-Treating across 17th Ave, for all ages.
The weekend of spooky fun starts today, October 23rd, and kicks off with the Monster’s Ball at 8pm tonight. Designed for people of all ages, head out to Tomkins Park along 17th Ave and take part in the outdoor dance party, and take in the roaming performers, aerialists and other potentially spooky sights.
Organizers are letting attendees know to not expect any jump scares at the event, so kids are more than welcome to attend.
Saturday’s festivities start with the Carnival Classics at 3pm, and features an old-school carnival, and even features TriXtan Entertainment characters roaming around the park. Starting at 3pm, those in costume can explore 17th Ave, and visit one of more than 70 businesses who will be waiting to hand out candy. Halloween candy will be on a first come, first serve basis so don’t get started too late!
You can also check out the interactive Trick-Or-Treat map here.
Starting at 7pm the Carnival After Dark will begin, and runs until 11pm. Live performers, a live DJ, and potentially costumes all await attendees on Saturday night.
We got to speak with Tulene Steiestol, executive director of the 17th Avenue Business Improvement Area, and asked for more details on Friday’s Monster Ball, and what you can expect at Tomkins Park.
We asked about the Carnival Classics, and asked what exactly a clown toss was.
