The Lethbridge Police service is advising the public of service level changes in light of the ongoing postal strike.
The community should expect delays in receiving hardcopy documents, including in-person Police Information Checks, all Requests for Information and pardon requests.
LPS has implemented short-term measures to mitigate this impact and regular service will resume once the postal disruption has ended.
If you require In-Person Police Information Checks, anyone who has made an in-person application for a Police Information Check and is unable to wait for the hardcopy to arrive by mail, is asked to email PIC@lethbridgepolice.ca and provide an email address where the download instructions can be forwarded.
PIC applications made online are not impacted as all results are provided electronically. Anyone who requires a PIC is encouraged to apply online at www.lethbridgepolice.ca.
Requests for information/pardon requests, all records will be sent electronically. In cases where an original copy is required, individuals will be contacted to pick-up their documents at the front counter.
Any requests requiring payment, can be facilitated in person at the front counter. In cases where the individual does not reside in Lethbridge, payment can be provided to LPS via courier service.
If you need to deal with Automated Traffic Enforcement Tickets (photo radar), mailing photo radar tickets and other traffic summons has been suspended until the postal strike has ended. Once postal service resumes, any outstanding violation notices will be sent at that time. Automated and conventional enforcement efforts remain ongoing.
