Three children sent to hospital after being hit by vehicle in southern Alberta

Police in southern Alberta are investigating after three children were struck by a vehicle.

Officers responded to a call after the children — ages 14, seven and five — were hit in a marked crosswalk in Lethbridge.

EMS transported the children to Chinook Regional Hospital and all three were transported to Calgary for further treatment.

Police say the children suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
