The 4th Avenue Flyover that connects Memorial Drive with downtown is set to receive some condition upgrades that will extend the life of it and make it more viable for commuters, starting next week.
Some of the upgrades include street lighting on the flyover, as well as upgrading the barriers along the structure.
Upcoming traffic impacts include:
- Tuesday April 2 – Friday April 5: lane closures will take place during non-peak hours to survey the site.
- Friday April 5 – Monday April 8: the flyover will be completely closed as construction starts.
- Monday April 8 – completion of construction: the flyover will be limited to one lane traffic 24/7 as the construction process is carried out.
According to the City of Calgary, construction on the 4th Avenue Flyover is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
