An early morning show fall has left communities in the Calgary area without as southern Alberta spring snow fall knocked out power.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for April 30 warning of a weeklong and heavy snowfall coming to the southern half of the province with an estimated 10 – 25 cm being accumulated by Thursday May 2.
Since the early morning of April 30, crews have been working on restoring power to various outlining communities including Black Diamond, Okotoks, Stoney Nakoda Nation, and the Tsuut’ina Nation.
According to the Enmax outage website, crews are expecting to restore power to the Tsuut’ina Nation around 10 a.m.
Tsuut’ina Nation Fire and Rescue reported on their Facebook page that 54 plus homes have been affected in the community and are thankful that there are no damages to the lines.
Enmax has reported on their X page that the Calgary Communities of Hawkwood and Starfield East have had their power restored at approximately 9 a.m.
