For the past two weeks, Calgary City Council have heard from Calgarians in what officials are calling the largest public hearing in the City’s history was.
The hearings saw 736 speakers and 238 panels taking part which included 6,101 written statements which were submitted to the public record.
Council’s public hearing started on April 22 but, due to the overwhelming number of participants it was extended to May 6 where it was officially closed at 9:17 p.m.
Mayor Joyti Gondek shared on her X page thanking Calgarians and City officials for their contributions and highlighted how housing was the hottest topic during the public hearings.
1/3 The public submissions portion of the longest public hearing in Calgary's history is over, and I want to thank everyone who contributed.
